Demian Rudel Rey (Buenos Aires, Argentina - 1987), composer and guitarist. Demian is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Instrumental Composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon with Martín Matalon and Philippe Hurel (composition) as well as with Michele Tadini (musical technologies). In addition, he has taken courses with José Manuel López López, Tristan Murail, Franck Bedrossian, Yann Robin and Raphaël Cendo. He has also participated in masterclasses and followed conferences by Francis Dhomont, Horacio Vaggione, Helmut Lachenmann, Michaël Levinas, Michel Chion, Annette Vande Gorne, Robert Normandeau, Hans Tutschku, Hèctor Parra, among others. In Argentina, he obtained his Higher Diplomas in Musical Arts specialized in Guitar at the "Astor Piazzolla" Conservatoire and at the EMBA. Demian holds a Bachelor's Degree in Composition and a Master's Degree in Combined Arts from the National University of Arts, where he studied with Santiago Santero. He obtained more than 30 awards and mentions in national and international competitions and his pieces have been selected and programmed in more than 60 festivals around the world. Also, his string quartet "Theophilus" has represented Argentina at the ISMC, World Music Days 2017 in Canada.
