The Brazilian punk rock band Del Rey 82 was formed in 2002 The name is a joke about the drummer’s car, Marco Aurélio, a Ford old model of 1982 that is parked in same place since 1990 as scrap. The orignal name's band was Pig Work and some musicians have played before this fixed Formation: Rafael Pimenta – Vocals, Gabriel (Coxa) Lobo – Guitars, Marcus (Joka) Vinícius – second guitar, Danyel Sylvestre – Bass and Marco Aurélio – drums. The music is fueled by Pimentas's powerful and critically aclaimed voice, Coxa's unique and unconventional style of guitar playing, Sylvestre's smooth and funky basslines. In 2003 they did a memorial show at Cruzeiro's Rock Festival that opened the record's doors, but they refused a major label contract and nowadays they keep playing at real underground places as Sana, Matriz House and Vila Mimosa. Some people say that they could do a reunion but still gossip. They last concert was at the Stephanius Anniversary Rock party in late 2005 for some lucky drunks and bees. Their originally located at Tijuca, a punk workers suburban in Rio de Janeiro. Their song still a success at underground places as Garage. Nowadays Sylvestre's formed a new band called Delirios Tropicais (www.deliriostropicais.cjb.net) and Coxa still working on a lysergic Folk Eletro Rock Band project called Diagonal Endogena.
