Deeds of Flesh is an American brutal death metal band from Los Osos, California, formed in 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark (1972β2018), and Joey Heaslet. The band founded the label Unique Leader Records, which has released albums by multiple death metal artists. Deeds of Flesh has released nine studio albums, with their most recent, "Nucleus", released in 2020. The band signed to Wild Rags Records and released their first EP, "Gradually Melted". Their debut full-length album, "Trading Pieces", was released in 1996 on Repulse Records, followed by "Inbreeding the Anthropophagi" in 1998, which featured Brad Palmer on drums and added guitarist Jim Tkacz. After losing their label contract, the band self-released a demo and subsequently established Unique Leader Records, through which all later albums were released. In 2005, they released a live DVD, "Deeds of Flesh: Live In Montreal". In 2007, founding member Jacoby Kingston left the band and was replaced by Erlend Caspersen. In 2012, Erik Lindmark was diagnosed with tendonitis, prompting a touring hiatus. The band's eighth studio album, "Portals to Canaan", was released on June 25, 2013. Lindmark died from sclerosis on November 29, 2018, at age 46. Their 2020 album, "Nucleus", was the first without Lindmark as a performer, though it includes material he wrote and recorded before his death. Former bassist Jacoby Kingston returned as vocalist, with contributions from former drummer Mike Hamilton and guest vocals from multi
