Decorate Decorate was an alternative rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark, formed in 2006. Its members are Asbjørn Auring Grimm (vocal/lyrics), Martin Rasmussen (guitar), Mikkel Holtoug (keyboard/producer), Viggo Claussen (drums) and Christian Mathiesen (guitar). Influenced by artists and poets such as Bowie, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Eno, Joy Division, Michel Houellebecq, Morten Nielsen, Jaques Brel (see www.myspace.com/decoratedecorate) and quoting Marquis de Sade, Albert Camus, Fjodor Dostojevskij, Friedrich Nietzsche and Dante Alighieri on their website (www.decoratedecorate.com), Decorate Decorate are making music with a dark, atmospheric ambience and a lyrical approach to topics like decay, desire and the death of humanity ("Europe Has No Heart"). The bands debut "Normandie" (Tactic Records/Target Distribution 2007) features six studio tracks and one live take as well as the videoclips to "Surname Of Copenhagen", "Karen" and "Evelyn". Its intense songs are reminicsent of internationally recognised bands like Interpol, She Wants Revenge, Editors and Joy Division. In September 2009, the band announced they were disbanding.
