Decontrolled originate from Belgrade, Serbia and their musical journey started in the year of 2003 as a solo project of Marko Tica, a drummer from a band Apocalypse. After a few months, the project started to gain public attention in the homeland with a few demo recordings. In the beginning of 2005 Marko joins band State Of Gray, where he finds few people interested in taking part in Decontrolled. In following months band self-releases a demo pack called “Unleashed” as a compilation of all demo releases which gained good critics once again. End of 2005 brings a first solid lineup, consisting of Marko Tica – guitars-vocals, Аleksandar Vučetić – vocals, Pavle Lekić – vocals, Miloš Milić – bass, Marko Protić – guitars, Matija Dagović – drums i Sanjin Ćorović – keyboards. With this lineup band goes through the year of 2006, releasing another demo, pre-album release “Self Portrait” and also a split demo disc with Draconic. In the following year of 2007, while recording a debut album, Vuk Kazimirović substitutes Marko Protić as a new guitarist. With numerous difficulties, recording is finished in the middle of 2008, followed by another lineup change. Аleksandar Vučetić leaves the band and Marko Tica takes a role of a lead vocalist. In the summer of 2008, band starts to play shows and begins their search for a record label. After playing Exit festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, headlining position on Neofest in Banja Luka, Bosnia and a numerous homeland shows, band sings with Mascom Auto
