Started in the year 2000, by Max Gutierrez (guitarists) and Jorge Chacon (former keyboards), December’s Cold Winter (DCW) saw light officially that same year on a well received first concert, quickly gaining space and name in the developing, but very demanding Costa Rican metal scene. The band has been one of the most talked about metal acts in the country since its conception, due to the ability to create exceptional and very unique musical approaches to melodic structures as well as mind blowing Death and Black metal scents. A great number of very successful live shows proven the great concept and image fans had about the band, reason why, in that same year of birth, they obtained 1st place in the National Battle of Metal Bands, opening even more doors of recognition nationally for being such a young band. The original line-up was: Isak Arroyo (Guitars), Jorge Chacon (Keyboads), Max Gutierrez (Guitars), Esteban Monestel (Bass), Alberto Montero (Vocals) and Christian Rodriguez (Drums). After those initial gigantic steps, DCW continued rehearsing hard in order to carry on consolidating the band, despite the fact of two line up changes between 2000 and 2001 (Monestel and Rodriguez left, Jonathan Leon (Bass) and Allan Chaves (Drums) joined DCW), the band regrouped itself to continue developing: such changes bred new forces within and they continued conquering audiences with devastating success, which brought the opportunity of being invited to Panama twice between 2001 and 200
