In 2017, Deathbreaker, a powerful four piece hailing from Olympia, Washington, was introduced to the world after signing with Facedown Records. As a new force in post-hardcore, Deathbreaker released their first album on Facedown Disconnect, creating breathing room in the album by branching out into more expressive territory. Disconnect was recorded with Matt Bayles at Red Room Studios (Mastodon, Botch, Minus the Bear, Caspian, Isis) and carries the mark of a vintage aggressive album with staying power. In 2020, the four-piece unleashed a sophomore album, Isolate, that turned up their volume and added a notch to their legacy. Deathbreaker’s new LP Isolate is the hardcore record we need right now. The raging lead single “Spite” is the harbinger of ten tracks of seething metallic hardcore. With their first album Disconnect Deathbreaker were touted as setting the foundation for Facedown’s newest force in post-hardcore. Now their sophomore release brings dissonant, straight-forward aggression to the front of the pack, and proves the grit of this powerful four-piece as they continue to build their legacy with Isolate.
