Artist
Technical and aggressive, intense yet melodic, DDL draw on a multitude of influences, blending old-school power and new-school technique with a love of the So-Cal punk scene. Amidst a torrent of UK shows alongside A Wilhelm Scream, Failsafe, INME, Capdown, Random Hand, We Are The Damned, Sonic Boom Six, Fandangle, 4ft Fingers, Fireapple Red, Captain Everything, Glamour Of The Kill, and others, Death Defying Life keep on writing and evolving their technical breaks and anthemic choruses. Forming in 2004, they set out on a DIY tour of the US West Coast, taking in Seattle, Bellingham, Olympia, Portland, and San Francisco, including a show with Fat Wreck Chords' Western Addiction. DDL fly to Amsterdam in 2006 to record their first offering, 5-track EP 'These Clenched Fists'. In 2007 DDL are invited to join MxPx and Zebrahead on tour in Europe, raising the roof in France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark and Holland. 2009 starts buoyantly with a sold-out headline show at York Duchess - "DDL are one motherf***ing laser-guided rock missile... Shock and awe-some!!" New material online soon, with more in the pipeline - The global onslaught continues!
