Over the past five years, death comesto matteson has become Nashvilles seminal leader in the city's burgeoning indie rock scene. Having played with such bands as Hopesfall, Copeland, Murder by Death, Celebrity, and The Gloria Record among others, the band has performed under many incarnations ranging from solo performances showcasing Peters operatic vocals to acoustic shows lush with strings and programming. Death comesto mattesons current manifestation includes Peter Matteson (vocals, guitar), Stephen Bohn (guitar), Joseph Ash (bass), Wayne Kee (keys, bgv), and Mike Walker (drums). Other performers and contributors to the Peters artistic vision have included: Timothy Nobles (Self, Celebrity, Statistics), Ryan Parrish (Hopesfall, Celebrity, Sincerity Guild), Josh Wolter (Plumb), and Enoch Porch (Thornton). Rich with dramatic dynamics, impassioned lyrics, and dark pop melodies, death comesto matteson is reminiscent of acts such as Mineral, Sunny Day Real Estate, Pedro the Lion, the Afghan Whigs, Mogwai, Simon and Garfunkel, and Tears For Fears.
