Death Angel is an American thrash metal band from Daly City, California, formed in 1982. The band was initially active until 1991 and reformed in 2001. They have released nine studio albums, along with demo recordings, live albums and a box set. After gaining attention in the underground scene with the albums "The Ultra-Violence" (1987) and "Frolic Through the Park" (1988), the band signed with Geffen Records and released "Act III" in 1990. The band was formed by cousins Rob Cavestany, Dennis Pepa, Gus Pepa and Andy Galeon, all of Filipino descent. Their early material reflected traditional heavy metal influences before shifting towards thrash metal. In 1983 they released the demo "Heavy Metal Insanity", followed by "Kill as One" in 1985, which circulated widely through tape trading networks and helped establish their reputation. Mark Osegueda joined as lead vocalist in 1984, having previously worked as a roadie for the ban
