Originally founded in 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany, Dear Paris are the city’s newest indie synthpop attraction. After having spent most of 2010 working on new material and sharpening their sound, their début, Synchronize EP, released in early 2011, is the band’s most impressive piece of work yet. A broad combination of influences ranging from classics à la Prince and Toto to up-and-coming acts like Tesla Boy has helped them create what NYC-based producer Diamond Cut calls a “fantastic EP with a great sound”. Currently Stefan Bächle, Michael Kreibohm, Tobias Riethmüller and Mathias Völkel are busy working on songs for their first album and preparing the band’s first international shows, including a mini-tour through several European countries. On top of that, a remix version of Synchronize EP is currently in the making, conceived as a digital EP with collaborations from acclaimed producers such as Germany Germany, Ren Riz and Neo Tokyo, as well as a physical release of the original EP, due in March 2011.
