Dear Future is a band from Pickneyville in southern Illinois, and I'm Brandon, I play guitar and sing. The band started several years ago with a guitar and an old beat-up drum kit. Then we grew older. An independent album was released under a different name, along with a demo or two. We grew older again. Several changes and years later, here we are. Ethan on drums, Wes playing the lead guitar, and Ian playing bass. In April 2006 a three-song demo was released that we produced, engineered, and mixed on our own. But we're still growing older. For the past six months we have been writing song after song that we can't wait to share with anyone who will listen. So we've been playing at any venue that will have us, be it a church or a club. As an independent band we have the luxury of not being driven by record sales, but by the music itself. And the loner in the back, nodding his head in rhythm. And the kids that show up because they don't have anything better to do; who clap along, react, and become our best friends for the evening. At the end of November we have another opportunity to record a handful of these songs that are so much a part of what we've learned over the past few years. This time we are letting a new friend wear the production hat so that we can keep our focus on the music. It's a strange position to be in: feeling so excited about letting all of you hear these new songs, yet so apprehensive about what you will think of them. Not because we are making music t
