Dead Vampires started performing in January of 2004 as a stripped-down punk two-piece drum & synthesizer instrumental act. Soon after, three new members helped "flesh out" the unique sound by adding a Theremin, Guitar, and Vocals to the mix. The sound was described as "The Misfits getting into a fistfight with Devo". By mid year, the band had already gained a small but loyal following in the underground Seattle music scene. They released a vinyl 7 inch Split with Boris The Sprinkler on Dirtnap Records in the winter of 2004. Throughout the next year, Dead Vampires continued perfecting their live shows and studio recordings, while quickly gaining media attention. The Stranger, Seattle Gay News, The Sinner, and The Tablet all fell under the seductive Dead Vampires spell. The band put together their first LP "We Are The Dead Vampires" in the Fall of 2005. The first rough pressings of two hundred copies disappeared almost instantly. "We Are the Dead Vampires" received strong reviews in such magazines as Rue Morgue and Virus. The band also enjoyed an in-studio live radio performance and interview to promote the record on "The Buzz " 100.7 FM. In the following year of 2006, Seattle's all-punk rock venue, the Funhouse featured one of Dead Vampires songs on its live band showcase compilation CD, the "Funhouse Comp Thing" With the departure of two founding members in 2007, the remaining Dead Vampires elected two new creatures to fill the void. Thus began a very hectic year performing
