Biog from Dead Spies website (with permission of the band): "Dead Spies were born in in the dark, breezy autumn of 2004. This diverse collective was envisaged as a home for renegade cabaret pianists, Boxed-in guitarists, metal-twinged indie kids, agitated post-punks and extremely polite drummers. One of each duly appeared, coming together to make a tight trouser of spiky noise with not a little melody. Though the ivories have since fallen off the stage, the spies survive. With influences from both sides of 1977, both sides of the Atlantic (and, in fact, both sides of the Channel), the sound is timeless and captivating and these deceased spooks are ready to face the modern world. They are cynical and romantic, rustic but urban, minimalist and soaring by turns. They invite you to watch and listen as they chop out their catchy brand of melodious post-punk, filled with propaganda, science, kulturkampf and mournful histories."
