De Skaggerz is a Reggae/Ska band formed in Rotterdam, NL in 2011. The original line-up consists of the leadsinger Dirk Busio, the guitarist Tommy Kennedy, the drummer Timothy Lovell, the keyboard-player Joachim Chall'emy, the bass player Yanick den Hartog and the saxophonist Lars Nebel. In 2015 their former keyboard-player Joachim left the band, and Jasper Ras took his place. The members of the Skaggerz are six young and crazy fellows, who turn the stage into a party you can't avoid. You will never forget their performance and you will definitely leave the stage completely covered in sweat. Their Genre is up-tempo ska- reggae, with a regular 'wink' at Hip-hop. With a great Demo-album and several smashing performances throughout Holland and having played as support act for the famous Dutch ska-bands The Upsessions, De Bazzookas and De Hardheid they have proved to be an upcoming reggae-ska band, which is ready for the upcoming festival-seasons. In which The Skaggerz differ from the majority is the interaction with the audience. It doesn't matter where you stand, because the performers will make sure they involve everyone to their stunning gig. Singing along with their catchy refrains does also help involving you even more! The newest EP 'Niet Helemaal Non-Fictie' (Totally Not Non-Fiction) came out at 28 March.
