We have heard so much, have digested and analyzed sounds and tones, and have desired certain masterpieces to be our own. This is our own, this is the exhale from all that we have inhaled. This is our version of the perfect world. When we walk down the street, this is the music we hear playing in the background. We all own music because we are all connected to the source that creates it, and we want this to be yours.”- Mari Kattman of Day Twelve Day Twelve was an idea that spawned from Joe Lindo in early 2011. After playing in many bands, collaborating with many different people, and sharing the stage with the many different bands, the decision was made to have creative freedom and break through the stereo types of what an “industrial” band could be. With his love for all music, not just electronic, he realized that there are many other people like him. Why couldn’t a band write a heavy pumping dance song and follow it up with a deep groove to put you into a trance, or a song that would tug at the heart? That was the outline for Day Twelve. Not be held by boundaries of what an industrial band is, to keep it fresh, and to play what felt right.
