Jimmy Pursey & Mat Sargent from Sham 69 have teamed up with Rev & Snell from Towers of London to form 'Day 21'. The new band play a complete set of new songs with one or two old Sham 69 songs for the fans. http://www.nme.com/news/towers-of-london/38734 The name DAY 21 comes from the last Sham 69 album released in 2000 which featured Jimmy & Mat. DAY 21 was formed on 21st Jan 2007 and 18 songs were recorded as demo's that year. In November 2007 'Day 21' recorded 14 songs at Olympic Studios, London for a new album 4:10am. The backing tracks were recorded in 'studio 1' where The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimmy Hendrix, Queen, U2, Oasis, Buzzcocks, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd, etc, etc have all recorded. In 2008 'Day 21' continued work on their debut album recording 3 new songs / backing tracks at Great Eastern St Studios. Jimmy's vocals & some over-dub guitars were recorded at Dean Street Studios, Soho where David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust was recorded. during 2008, 'Day 21' played a handful of live shows to try out new songs and film for video. 25th January - Shephards Bush Empire 26th January - Clockwork Marmalade 18th April - Electric Ballroom, Camden 10th July - Nambucca, Holloway Rd December 2008 a video shoot in Headingly, Leeds with 'Poison Pen Films' for the new Day 21 single 'Having it Rock'n'Roll'.
