He grew up on two coasts, surfing waves Pacific and Atlantic, the son of an actress singer, the grandson of a hit songwriter. David Shelley was born into music, a drummer then guitarist with a soulful voice who found his muse in the south of Florida, where early fame took him to Hollywood, a record deal and the movies, to the band of Cher and the streets of LA. Retreating to the desert, playing the blues with Native American artists, he went on to form David Shelley & Bluestone, a blues-rock powerhouse on the brink of success with two critically acclaimed albums when he left us too soon at age 57.
