about

David Payne (4/11/1987- ), is a Xenia, OH folk musician. Payne's solo career began when his previous band, Psylis, broke up in April 2008. Payne spent the year following the band's breakup writing folk- and country- influenced acoustic songs and playing solo shows in coffee shops and bars around the Dayton area. In the Fall of 2009, Payne began recording his self-released debut, 21, which was released in December 2009. ..."Payne, recently self-released his debut album, 21, a dynamic acoustic outing that could provide a perfect soundtrack for a Midwestern winter. With a powerfully emotive vocal delivery, Payne channels the angst and anticipation of youth into an impressive debut…" -the Buddha Den (thebuddhaden.net) ......"21" is a surprisingly mature collection of songs about making the transition from teenager to adult....." -Don Thrasher - Dayton Daily News/Actice Dayton "......With Heart-on-the-sleave songwriting and a nuanced, soulful vocal delivery, Payne's debut presents a distinct voice that seems instantly familiar....." - Kyle Melton - Dayton City Paper User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
