David K Blake is an alternative singer-songwriter from Cornwall who has been active since 2011. In 2011 and early 2012 he experimented with several small recordings of musical ideas, and began writing songs in late 2012, completing the lo-fi, nihilist acoustic record 'Notes From the Asylum' in early 2013. This was quickly followed by releases of several songs through his Soundcloud page: 'Autumn-Hired Thief', 'Suitcase On the Second Floor', 'Lacco Clementine' and 'Fenceland'. In late 2013 he completed his second album, 'The Borders of This Land', a conceptual record based loosely around life in small-town Cornwall in the early part of the 20th Century. In 2014 he released a succession of EPs on Bandcamp, followed by a compilation record bringing them together, 'The Windows of Midsummer', in June. In December he released his third full-length album, 'Travellers' - largely based on the journeys of famous travel writer H.V. Morton around England - through his Soundcloud page. 'Shot In the Dark', his fourth solo effort, was released on Soundcloud in June 2015. In July 2015 he began writing and recording an album which was to mix alternative and progressive rock, kraut rock, jazz and folk music, but this project was seemingly shelved.
