David J. Smith

David J. Smith is an organist, harpsichordist and musicologist based in the North East of England and in Scotland. He combines musicology with performance as an organist, recorder and continuo player, specialising in early keyboard music by composers from England and the Netherlands and in improvisation. His research is situated in the Early Modern, specialising in English instrumental music of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. He has expertise in the critical editing of music, and as a performer has several recordings to his name.
