David Goad

David Goad was born in Oklahoma City in 1987. He grew up listening to classical song played by his father on the family piano. He picked up the guitar at age 12. David Goad's first musical project was in The Popes of Destruction. The other members were Grant (from Violent Affair) and Micheal Drosselmeyer. They were known for such classics as, "I Enjoy Ham (Ham Is What I Enjoy)". His next project was the band Count Blastula and the Zygotes with Chaz and Cody Thompson. He began studying music theory in college, and began working on various orchestrated pieces. They changed their name to Junk For Jesus to avoid copyright infringement. They eventually disbanded for various reasons (drugs, creative differences, etc.). They were known for songs like, "Pigfucker" and a cover of "Now I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges. David started looking for other projects to join. He was directed to a kid named Gabriel through his classical guitar instructor. They started collaborating on a soundtrack to a film Gabriel was writing. The project was called Intolerance. David began writing serious songs using his new-found musical knowledge. They eventually morphed into a vehicle for his writing called Sister Ruin. Sister Ruin played several shows before they disbanded (creative differences). The shows displayed a new persona David had been forming. He began studying the works of Antonin Artaud, and the Surrealist movement.
