Artist
David Fitzgerald was born in Invernesshire, Scotland. He was educated in Hertfordshire, England & studied at the prestigious Royal Marines School of Music, Deal, Kent. After some years touring the world as a recording artist, working mainly within the pop industry, David committed himself to working within the Christian Music industry. For some 25 years he has recorded & toured with artists such as Graham Kendrick, Adrian Snell, Chris Eaton, Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Martin Joseph, Stuart Townend and many others. He is probably best known as the founder member of Celtic fusion band IONA and for his subsequent solo recordings: Columcille (1995), Lux Aeterna (1997), Breath Of Heaven (2001) & God Is Love (2004). He has also contributed to the acclaimed instrumental series 'Celtic Expressions Of Worship' (6 CD series), which also features other members of IONA. Recently David has recorded two projects with his friend and collaborator Dave Bainbridge (IONA) entitled 'The Eye Of The Eagle' (1998) & 'Life journey' (2009). David continues to record & to tour and is seen regularly on the BBC TV weekly programme 'Songs Of Praise'.
