Artist
Former frontman of “On The Verge” UK quintet Ambershades, Manhattan-dwelling rocker Davey La is set for a busy 2008, with his debut solo EP release, “Rotten In Denmark.” Recorded in part with the Dandy Warhols frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor in the producer’s chair, and drawing influences from a wide array of artists including Sly and the Family Stone, The Beatles as well as 80’s pop acts like Billy Joel and Elton John, the title track, “Rotten In Denmark,” an intense mix of classic rock, dark lyrics, crunching guitars, driving piano hooks and an undeniable upbeat tempo. Other standout tracks include “Ichi Ni San Shi, Go!” which highlights an impressive falsetto while maintaining rich raspy vocals, the soulful ballad “Fires” and a live version of “Don't Let Me Down,” which provides an excellent showcase for the true power and range of Davey La’s singing. Davey is currently in the studio working on his full album, and will be performing in New York, London, LA, Dallas and Austin in the coming months. www.myspace.com/daveylaonline. info@daveyla.com.
