Davey Arthur (born Davey Pat Arthur in County Donegal on 24 September 1954 ) is a Irish folk singer best known for being part of the Irish folk band The Fureys & Davey Arthur. After moving to Scotland at the age of two and starting to play music at the age of eight, at 18 he returned to Ireland where he started to compose his own music. Initially a member of The Buskers (with Paul Furey and Brendan Leeson), he became world famous after he joined with the Furey brothers as The Fureys & Davey Arthur when they had their most successful hits. After leaving the Fureys in 1992, he went on to continue with his own solo career and his own tours. He recorded two solo albums "Celtic Side Saddle" (1994) and "Cut to the Chase" (1998). He plays the banjo, mandolin and guitar. In all he has written over 40 compositions, that feature on 28 albums.
