Dave Marquiss

David Pomerouy Marquiss was born in Bath to a family of disgraced French aristocrats in the mid 80's. A talented musician he studied Music at the University of Southampton where he began his solo career playing the local venues and gathering a hardcore of support. Initially inspired by the acoustic blues players of the 1920s- 40s, Dave's own playing and songwriting is influenced most strongly by Bert Jansch and Nick Drake, combining these influences with his classical technique to provide a complex wide, ranging and interesting sound accompanied by his rich baritone voice. Dave has two independent releases "David Marquiss" and "Up Against The Wall Again", both available at gigs.
