Artist
Dave Dixon grew up in Weston-super-Mare, UK and began writing songs as soon as he learnt his first few chords in 2003. Over the years, he sought to improve his production and songwriting in bedroom recordings, although a raw lo-fi quality remains an important characteristic of his sound. Dave moved to London in 2008 for study and began playing the folk/acoustic scene extensively. Since his arrival in the capital, he has been introduced by Tom Robinson on BBC6 and won the UCL Battle of the Bands 2010. The Calming the Wild Brothers EP is a collection of songs recorded over a year and a half in Dave's bedrooms in London, England, Siena, Italy and Chambéry, France. The EP is available for free download at: http://davedixon.bandcamp.com As influences, Dave cites artists such as John Frusciante, Sunset Rubdown, Bon Iver, Joanna Newsom, Modest Mouse and The Arcade Fire, among others. www.facebook.com/davedixonmusic davedixon.tumblr.com User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
