だててんりゅう Datetenryu (だててんりゅう) is the leader band of the undershirt grand rock scene in Kansai from 1971. Datetenryu had the influence which is not made to write on music scenes of Japan, such as Murahachibu, Yoninbayashi, and Zuno-Keisatsu. Their music nature is carrying out intension even of the psychedelic ,progressive, and blues.So they have the size of the individuality which does not look at a kind,and a scale in a preeminent technique and others, and have become the factor in which it wins deep-rooted popularity. Their live activity was stopped and it was now in 1983. however, the live concert was held for the first time in 18 years in Kyoto in 2001. Then, as for it, it will advertise widely that they are living to a world. Datetenryu was an obscure cousin to Communist agitator bands Zuno Keisatsu (Brain Police), Yellow, Les Rallizes Denudés and Murahatchibu. Led by organist Masao Tonari, the band on UNTO played a frantic hogwash of soul-based progressive space rock that inhabited the same territory as The the Soft Machine’s debut- LP period (imagine ‘Why Are We Sleeping?’ or ‘Hope For for Happiness’ by way of ‘21st Century Schizoid Man’). Mainly instrumental, their music is a space trek through endless R&B riffs and classic soul moments, like some ever- unfolding medley.
