Datawave is the project of French-born, Brussels-based producer Gaétan Votion. His unique approach to electro was foreshadowed by early releases on the labels Mechatronica and Natural Sciences, before he expanded his reach across a growing network of European labels. His 2018 full-length Frontier Lab, released on Talahachi, established his signature sound Datawave — hypnotic, pure electro crafted through wiggly electronics and sharp percussion Hipodrome — across 13 tracks that move between austere machine rhythms and wide, cinematic soundscapes.
