Artist
Originally from Tamatave, the region of the great master of the marovany, Rakotozafy, Daniel Tombo has inherited from the latter his virtuosity and lyricism. As the heir of the great Rakotozafy, master of the marovany, a typically Malagasy zither, Tombo Daniel released his second album "Toamasina Serenades" under the Musikela de Solorazaf label. For several decades, Tombo Daniel has been exploring what is known in Madagascar as "valiha vata" or valiha on a box. In 1996, Daniel Tombo won the first prize at the Rakotozafy Interpretation Competition and has been touring European festivals since 1986.
