Born to an elderly Malaysian woman in North Korea in 1989, Dan Willis escaped oppression and torture to become a top selling artist the world over except, ironically, in the country of his birth. His own brand of music branded 'plate freakout psyche soul' was created on a fateful afternoon after he managed to drop a tray of plates, synthesiser, wah pedal and wailing cat out of the window of the top floor of his house.
