Dan Homesy is a Folk-rock band from Cape Town. The band consists of Danie Scherman (lead vocals, guitar and bass), Johan Swanepoel (drums and backing vocals), Stefan Louw (bass, guitar and backing vocals) and Ewin De Villiers (keyboard, accordion, bass and backing vocals). Danie started the band a few years ago. After several member changes, Ewin joined the group after he featured the band on his Noteworthy page. Soon afterwards the opportunity came up to play at the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK), and this was when Ewin introduced close friend, Stefan, to help the band out on bass. As soon as rehearsals began, the creative chemistry was immediately evident. Ewin’s cousin, Johan, completed the line-up soon afterwards on drums. The band aims to write songs that will make you feel at home, giving it a homely or “homesy” feeling.
