Dan Haynes was born on March 14th, 1991 in Farmington, Connecticut. He has lived mostly his whole life in the suburbs of South Windsor, Connecticut, and currently resides in Willimantic, CT as a student at Eastern Connecticut State University. Outside of school and music, Haynes works a Crew Chief at the 103rd Airlift Wing, Connecticut Air National Guard, and also at a family friends pool store in the summer. When he was in 7th grade his father, also a musician, taught him how to play the guitar. Learning from there, Dan also progressed in percussion, the keyboards, harmonica, and bass guitar. In 8th grade, he participated in a talent show performing the song "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which started his singing/songwriting career. While in high school, Dan joined with fellow students to form the band, "In Our Hands", which took many of Haynes' original music and added other instruments live. While an early success, playing at the Webster Theater in Hartford and countless other small venues around CT and MA, "In Our Hands" disbanded after a year only recording a handful of songs. After competing solo in high school talent shows and small venues, Dan Haynes went on a writing hiatus for three years, only recently starting up again in late 2010. Over the past eight years Haynes has written over 30 songs and recorded almost all, including covers by The Lonely Forrest, John Butler Trio, Hoobastank, Oasis, and Phil Vassar.
