Multifaceted DJ, Producer and spoken word artist Dan Cooper hails from the idyllic Cotswolds, yet you wouldn't be able to tell that from his brazen past in underground experimental noise, Uk rap and free improvisation experiments. Starting out in the late 90's under questionable moniker Puppy Bucket with a series of self produced lo-fi cassettes given out at school and college, Dan eventually ended up in the even more questionable rap duo Puppy Bucket & Donny Choonara alongside college cohort Andrew Lansley, later to be joined by Galen on bass, DJ's Leftside & Tipps and their own version of Bez, a dancer simply called 'Party'. PBDC's popularity gained a small but steady following on pre-MySpace / Facebook message boards such as The Streets message board and their own Elbandito Recordings label website. After veering off into a coarse series of experimental proto-dubstep compositions, Dan and Andy were approached by Mute Records, resulting in an appearance on the Sonic Mook compilation 'Hot Shit' alongside bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and !!! (chk-chk-chk) plus gigs supporting the likes of Princess Superstar and Art Brut. 2008 saw a new project, Ion Whistle, with noise / chip tune artist Mark Burden. The focus switching in a more harsh noise and drone direction, garnering support slots with acts such as Shitmat, Infinite Livez and Chris Corsano.
