Idaho is the 43rd state in the union and home to The Salmon River, Hell’s Canyon and The Damphools. The Damphools are a country music combo hailing from the Wood River Valley in Idaho. With the northern Rocky Mountains at their side, The Damphools have been writing and playing real “back porch” country music for almost 2 years. With a pathological obsession to pursue good music, good times and some good friends, they have gathered quite an Idaho following. And with the road calling; The Damphools are sure to find their way to a juke joint near you. The Damphools were founded by banjo player and renaissance man Chuy Hartman and spiritual guru and lyricist Tony “Burger” Pfau (Guitar, Vox). While playing the back alleys and barns of rural Idaho, the pair found J.R. Hood (Guitar, Vox) from Texas behind the local tavern. Also, joining the band were Sir Kent Mueller and his upright bass, Pamela. James Fisher (Drums) and Rick “Taco” Wakefield (harmonica) were next to round out the lineup. The music is classic, loose and country with elements of rockabilly, rock-n-roll and cosmic Americana. The Damphools live shows are the band’s shining pride. Ranging from manic honky tonk originals, twang boogie, and subtle renditions of classic country and bluegrass songs, The Damphools keep the shows interesting and diverse.
