Dadaistisk Danseénsemble is a Norwegian electro-punk-poetry line up consisting primarily of Pål Arnold Halum and Petter von Krogh, but different constellations have occurred throughout the years since 1998. Three of the most important contributors along the way have been Julian Skar, Jørgen Karlstrøm and Geir Svendsen. The foundation of the ensemble is von Krogh's music and Halum's poetry. Halum's writing are primarily politically motivated, but the love and human concerns in it are also coloured by an escatological touch. The motivation for bringing the poetry to the musical scene was a feeling that poetry mainly should be audial and not unorganic words on a paper. Up till now the ensemble has never repeated itself and have always improvised their sessions and musical takes to maintain this organic feeling. A live-session by the ensemble of course contains the dadaistic element of performance-art. Their at times provoking performances has lead to several funny reactions including beer-throwing, fuck you-fingers and naturally people walking away on their shows. Mostly the reason given for their leaving is that "this shit is just too depressive", only confirming that they have not listened carefully enough.
