Its influences include AFRO Reggae, Hip-Hop and Soul. Winners of the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards for “Best African Act”, they were also nominated to the Mobo Awards in 2004 with “Boomerang” the last of their 3 albums. FAADA FREDDY and NDONGO D the 2 singers and DJ Neassso , were destined for an international career and notoriety that they developped with more than 1500 worldwide performances in France, UK, Germany, USA, Japan, etc...and their last album’s released in more than 20 territories. “Daara J” means “School of Life” in Wolof and focuses on human identity, social & political topics and spirituality creating a music that mixes modernity and roots.
