DLGZ rock 5tet create a music that soars, that's sharp and sophisticated. Their compositions are built on the geometry of rock, and also draw on some elements of electronic music and jazz. Taut music, resolutely contemporary, which draws lyrics from the singer that are both disturbing and serious-minded. It is music that resists categories and labels but it does recognise influences like Pink Floyd, Battles, Tortoise or Steve Reich. Following the appearance of two Eps ("An unexpected Landing" 2005, "Rock Music Of Our Own" 2007), DLGZ rock 5tet is releasing its first album, "New Tricks For Old Dogs" (Pourquoi Faire Simple records), on march 30th 2009 physicaly in France and in Benelux countries (Anticraft / COD&S) and digitally (Believe). Recording and mixing were done at Soma studios in Chicago with John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea & Cake, Stereolab, Fiery Furnaces...).
