One syllable ( pronounced yow) Yao (whose name is traditionally given to Thursday born boys in his mother's native Ghana) grew up doing his chores to the piercing guitars of west african highlife and the soulful struts of american soul music + Perry Como and Jim Reeves. From playing drums with pencils to emulating with an air guitar, this youngster was really feeling what was being sonically conveyed to him. Fast forward years later, Yao has put his own wild style on things, and is still feeling it, despises weekend traffic like his momma, and knows that the unadulterated heart will always tell the truth.
