Nationwide famous dj Wiekes, best known for his amazing 5 hour performances in Ekko. Only 2 decks, a cross fader and a bucket full of super tracks. His buddy and lifelong side kick Brutus puts some extra flavour on the decks. DJ Wiekes was born to an middle class Roggelish family in the mid-northern part of the extremely dangerous Limburg area. He served for more than 5 years in the Heytse-Roggel war (which is still not over). It was also there where he created his unique style of Dj-ing. A raw attitude (as a left over of the war ofcourse) and a friendly sound (he was the first one try to solve this problem without fights, but with music). But the biggest reason of his succes is his sex-appeal without arrogance, which has drawn many young girls to his shows. Many of these girls thank his dj-sets a change in their lives. His following described DJ Wiekes as "the middle child craving universal acceptance and approval". Due to his nationwide succes his real name is still a mystery. DJ wiekes is listed in the Hoegaarden Book of World Records for "Most drunk appearances at dutch dance nights". As a big fan of Ron Jeremy and Paris Hilton he understands how to 'move' people. Saturday 16 February 2008 will be his last performance at the utrecht-famous Diep in de Groef. After the succesful 2008 summerfestivalseason it became extremely silent around DJ Wiekes.
