DJ Wardove is an electronic underground artist, music producer, and private IT consultant from Coal Hill, AR. He is an original member of the Wardove Family, an underground music collective/hip-hop crew that was founded in the general interest of creating free recordings with other members of the Oregon underground. He is co-founder of the netlabel smell sign discs which he founded with Oxygen Elmo in 2010. In 2017, DJ Wardove joined the underground collective New Cocoon founded by Wormhole and Slew in 2005. DJ Wardove retains the "Wardove" in his name as a reference to his experiences as a former member of "The Wardove Family" (the underground music collective/hip-hop crew mentioned above), the hip-hop/punk DIY aestheticism he intends to evoke, the heavy use of 'discs' as his favorite medium, his roots as a veteran of the United States Army, and the fact that he closely identifies himself as a member of the 'hip-hop' generation despite whatever genre or sub-genre barriers he may be producing in, the color of his skin, or his ethnic background.
