DJ Red Alert (real name Grant Smith) & Mike Slammer (real name Paul Rooney) are a UK breakbeat hardcore/rave and later happy hardcore duo and co-founders of Slammin' Vinyl Records, created in 1992, the label primarily founded to release their projects. Today Slammin' is a record shop and rave events organisation company. Grant and Paul's first work as a duo was the Slammer EP from 1992, released by the seminal Bizzy B label Brain Records (under the initial moniker DJ Red Alert & Pepsi). Under their own label they have released a series of 12" EPs, the highlights of which are compiled on the Gumh Recordings-released compilation record also called Slammin' Vinyl, released in 1995.
