Ravin is best known for his contributions to the celebrated Buddha Bar series on Wagram and George V records. He is currently resident DJ at the Parisian restaurant and club by the same name, and plays his style of downtempo world music and house-influenced jazz fusion to a worldwide audience both live on his travels and on his multiple compilation releases that have won him great recognition. Born on July 11th, 1966 on Mauritius island, he immigrated to France as a teenager and began what was to be a life-long career in music. He became resident DJ at the The Rex club in Paris, and won the attention of influential figures such as Laurent Meyer (of 'Le Boy'), who helped him further his career by setting him up with a gig at one of the then hugely popular and infamous Wiz Bombino parties. It was here that he met Claude Challe, lounge/world music guru and owner of Les Bains Douches, one of the most influential Parisian night spots in the 80's. Together, they collaborated on records such as Loverdose, The Flying Carpet and Nirvana Lounge before taking up residence in the restaurant and nightclub called 'Buddha Bar' in 1997. In no small part due to his Indian roots, Ravin immediately felt at home in this cosmopolitan yet decidedly Eastern-flavored establishment.
