How about that hot, hot sound from DJ PAULO? The meteoric rise of DJ Paulo during the past few years has been a blessing to those who prefer their beats with a bit more of an underground feel to them. A fixture on the Los Angeles club scene for years, Paulo has leveraged his critically acclaimed performance at the 2001 Palm Springs White Party into peak-hours success worldwide. During the past few years this truly international DJ – he hails originally from Portugal – has planted himself firmly among the ranks of headlining DJs, performing at numerous prestigious parties: Black and Blue Montreal, New York’s Saint at Large Black Party, Alegria, Fire Island’s Dancing on the Bay, White Party Miami and Palm Springs, Sydney’s Mardi Gras, Rio’s Carnival, and Taiwan’s "Ministry of Sound" just to name a few. Paulo also holds residencies at esteemed club events such as New York’s "Work" and Los Angeles’ "Reflex". In Los Angeles he began building his popularity by spinning the Tom of Finland Man-o’-Rama parties. “The tremendous fanfare surrounding those parties opened a lot of doors for me,” says Paulo. “It led to opportunities outside of LA which eventually propelled me into the league of the national party DJs.” Past residencies for Paulo in the City of Angels include Stereo and Spin and he is now frequently in the DJ booths at Reflex, Avalon, Mayan, Here, and The Factory.
