Anderson Vila Nova (a.k.a. DJ Lava, Brazilian / Dutch) has had Amsterdam as his homebase since July 2000. Being a Brazilian, he’s got the rhythm encoded in his genes and he loves to make the crowd scream of joy with his selection of tracks. His DJ sets are uplifting and with a tint of underground mixing house, electro, funk, minimal, techno and acid... His track JUST YOU was released on the popular FULL BODY WORKOUT 3 compilation by world-renowned GET PHYSICAL RECORDS in September 2006. (GET PHYSICAL was voted the “Label of the Year 2005” by influential British dance magazine DJ MAG.) JUST YOU is a trippy composition with a friendly old school house flavor. Its echoing, hypnotic drums are underpinned by a sexy, snaking bassline. Since 2005, combining music and fashion Anderson Vila Nova has worked together with Amsterdam fashion designer BAS KOSTERS and created the band SUPERIOR EXPERIENCE. With a disco-punk attitude and inspired by the themes for the fashion shows they produced AMSTERDAM MONKEY DANCE (2006) and DISCO DYNAMIQUE feat. SHIRLEY (2007). In January 2005, Anderson Vila Nova, together with sound designer ELDIT, released a limited edition of the 12" STROBOLIGHT EP (distributed by Lowlands records). Besides being a DJ and music producer, Anderson Vila Nova has also organized parties in the Amsterdam underground dance scene: 2003-2005 DJ Lava was resident DJ and co-organized with DJ LUPE the successful party UNK (funk, punk, hunk, spunk, drunk) at CLUB 8. 2005-2007
