For the 10th anniversary of Watanabe Entertainment, company decided to create a boyband from D-BOYS members to represent all boys of the group in a special unit. In the end Seto Koji, Shunji Igarashi, Yuichi Nakamura and Hirofumi Araki were selected and 5th member - Arata Horii - was determined through the 2010 D-BOYS Audition, he was chosen among 30,000 applicants. In November 2011 Yuichi Nakamura left D☆Date and the entertainment business due to a back injury to concentrate on medical recovery.
