Originally formed in Karlovy Vary in November 2001, Cutterred Flesh has evolved into one of the most prominent forces in the Czech Brutal Death Metal scene. Starting as a group of teenage friends inspired by the raw aggression of bands like Mortician, they released their first demo in 2002, followed by their debut full-length, Torture Is Medicine, in 2007. This early period was defined by high-intensity performances, including a breakthrough set at the renowned Obscene Extreme Festival. Over the next decade, the band solidified their reputation through consistent releases like Cause the Apocalypse and Dying in Pieces. However, it was the 2018 album Code: Violence that propelled them onto the international stage, supported by extensive touring that took them as far as Russia. In recent years, Cutterred Flesh underwent a significant stylistic and structural shift. With a revamped lineup featuring vocalist Jiří Krš and drummer František Drážďanský, and a new partnership with Transcending Obscurity Records, their sound has transitioned from straightforward gore-drenched brutality to a more sophisticated, technical, and atmospheric style. Their latest works, such as Sharing Is Caring (2021) and Love At First Bite (2024), showcase a band at their creative peak, blending modern production with progressive elements. Looking ahead, the band is set to release a Lovecraft-inspired concept album, The Shapes of Hidden Malice, in 2026. Today, they remain a staple on the European festival
