French composer and poet. He came from Tournai and was 'diseur' to the king of France in 1372. In 1387 he completed his great epic poem, the Chronique de Bertrand de Guesclin.His three balladesin the Chantilly MS are rhythmically extremely complex; two of them also use canon.
