Cult Cinema were formed in London during 2009 by Paul Hamlin (guitar), Ivan Ferreira (vocals), Nick Desmond (guitar), Noah Winterbourn (drums) and Trevor Saull (bass). Coming from the fringes of no scene in particular, they have felt no need to fit in, instead foolishly attempting to fuse the violence of thrash, punk and hardcore with the rawness of old school black metal and the off-kilter discordance of 90's noise rock and post-hardcore bands. Cult Cinema recently finished their debut EP, “Iscariot”, produced and engineered by John Rees (Peak Studios) and mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna). With their EP they have stripped their influences down to the bare bones in order to build their own sonic identity, with an aggressive, intense and forceful sound, combining melody and dissonance to create a gut-wrenching atmosphere of confusion and distress. 'Iscariot' is based on the theme of betrayal, rejection, isolation, violence and suicide. For fans of: furious intensity, end-of-the-world misery and big riffs.
