Cryo-mancer is an industrial rock band born of many influences. Currently based just outside NYC, Cryo-mancer consists of Kryss Oroborus (the main songwriter, singer, programmer, arranger and guitarist) and Sparks (secondary vocals and bass). Kryss is originally from Pennsylvania and grew up in Iowa. He has lived many places, most notably Charlotte, North Carolina and New Haven, Connecticut. Although he initially took guitar lessons as a teen, he got his start playing drums before switching to bass, the instrument he has played in the majority of the bands he has been in. Some of his previous bands include Anticrisis, Transmission 13 and GlobalWaveSystem. Cryo-mancer began life under another name, Paris Oroborus, during which time he started playing guitar again. Sparks is originally from Virginia and grew up in South Carolina. The daughter of a Baptist minister of music, she grew singing in church choirs and taking piano. In college she majored in vocal performance at Winthrop University in South Carolina and started playing bass at the age of 21. She also plays classical guitar, although not proficiently.
